Please don't say "one studies psychiatry and the other psychology", I want to know the actual difference and what each does.

The difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist is that psychiatrists specialize in mental health and mental disorders like schizophrenia and ADD while psychologist is a scientist trained in psychology. A psychiatrist can issue drug prescriptions to patients. A psychologist cannot. They both deal with counseling and mental health, it just depends on what field they are in.
