My 1996 Impala SS is idling very high what can I do to settle it down to normal.

Could be your water pump. Had that problem with a vehicle. One problem lead to another and a gasket blew.

I have a 06 silverado SS 6.0L supercharged but anyways it should be idling at like 1 RPM if it just started going past that it could be your throttle body flap could be stuck and if it is that's causing it to stay at a high idle
