A couple of weeks ago, I was riding my bike and completely wiped out. I scratched up my entire leg. it has since healed and every scratch appears to be scarring. I've come to the conclusion that I'm probably lacking in certain vitamins like E that are essential for skin and bodily health. If I start taking supplements that contain E will my scars heal and become less visible?

Trying rubbing Aloe Vera over the scar, if it won't make the scar go away it will shrink it. Plus Aloe Vera is a natural substance. Goodluck

In time. Depends how deep, scratches are superficial, I think your chances are good. A gouge is a different story though.

Theyll fade at very least. But i still have a scar from a bike wreck when i was twelve. That was over 30 years ago. Depends on how deep the wounds were.

I personally feel that using a topical vitamin e will work better. I had a cyst that left a HUGE scar on my chest, I was so upset but the surgeon's nurse told me 9 times out of 10 if you use a lotion of some sort and apply every single day, the friction and massage help blood flow to that area and it drastically reduces the appearance of scars. I tried it and it really worked; it's shocking how different the scar looks now compared to when it was new. I personally used whatever lotion was handy, but those with vitamin e are made specifically for scar reduction and skin elasticity. Best of luck :)

The E solutions need to be applied early during the healing process to be most effective. If all else fails make up a good story that makes you a hero. Works every time :) Have a friend that has a noticeable scar on his cheek and tells kids he is a retired Jedi knight lol

For scars, you can purchase pure vitamin E oil as well as taking a capsule daily... One of the best products to use to diminish the appearance of scars, stretch-marks and uneven skin tone is called Bio-Oil... You can purchase it at your local drugstore... It is inexpensive however, you need to be patient and use it daily and diligently... I had neck surgery and after sutures were removed, I began using the oil... You cannot see the scar... Recently underwent knee surgery, using Bio-Oil, you can barely see the incisions... I've used it for years and highly recommend it... Heal well...

You can also use vitamin E oil to rub it in two or three times a day or you could use a 70% solution of DMSO. (dimethyl sulfoxide) It's made from wood pulp that penetrates the skin and promotes healing. Both are available OTC at the drugstore.
