my dad bought a laptop a while back and i did not react well to staying on the charger while in use, so i don't know if it is a good idea to use my hp while charging
Actually, using your laptop while it is NOT plugged in will do harm to your battery. Your battery has a limited life span, so it's best to not rely on it unless it is needed. Personally, I always keep my laptop plugged in. Most laptops have built in mechanisms that control how the power is used when it is plugged in. When it is plugged in, it will bypass the battery and use the "charger" to run, unless the battery is low, then it will charge the battery. When the battery is fully charged, it stops charging, and your laptop runs on the "charger". It's not fair to call it a "charger" though, because it's actually just a power supply that acts as a charger.
Nah it's fine. I leave mine on the charger while I'm using my laptop because my battery isn't very big.
It should be okay, if it's reacting badly you might want to get it checked out.
