It could be that you don't have a cross-country kind of body. There are different types of builds.

Maybe... I'm no specialist! I ran track and after a month my knees and ankles were a bit swollen and they were painful to put pressure on. Maybe you should take a break for a day or two, or maybe on a day before a mini-break (like a free weekend or a holiday that you didn't need to run on). I think that's what helped me. Good luck!
