Depends on the field they there getting a doctorate for and how many courses and credits they take during a semester

too long ... I only got bachelors 4 years... Unless your family is wealthy , the cost of 8 years of college is simply not worth it nowadays.

First you get your bachelors (4 years) then your masters (2-3 years) and then your doctorate (I think 8 years)

My cousin attended U of M and got his degree in biology. They waived his masters and he had his doctorate in biology at 23. Needless to say he was and is exceptionally smart.
