THEY do what they were programed to do as stated by Jehovah God:(Psalm 139:13-16) “13?For you yourself produced my kidneys; You kept me screened off in the belly of my mother. 14?I shall laud you because in a fear-inspiring way I am wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, As my soul is very well aware. 15?My bones were not hidden from you When I was made in secret, When I was woven in the lowest parts of the earth. 16?Your eyes saw even the embryo of me, And in your book all its parts were down in writing,.?.?.”*** g99 9/8 p. 5 Peering Into the Microscope ***DNA—The Molecule of HeredityHumans as well as multicelled plants and animals start as a single cell. After that cell reaches a certain size, it divides and forms two cells. Then these two cells divide and form four cells. As the cells continue to divide, they specialize—that is, they differentiate, becoming muscle cells, nerve cells, skin cells, and so forth. As the process continues, many of the cells group together to form tissues. Muscle cells, for example, join forces and form muscle tissue. Different types of tissues form organs, such as the heart, the lungs, and the eyes.

They are wired to do so depending on what cell you are Talking about. Some cells don't divide at allSome cells divide without control and that's known as cncer cells.Cells have mechanisms to stop cell division Some genes turn on the division mechanism , in the end , it all depends on what cells you are trying to study. Life wouldn't be life if it wasn't for dividing cells. Look up mitosis and meiosis
